This is an open forum for Democrats to post issues that they feel are important.  The items listed below may not be the expressed opinion of the "University Democrats," but we believe in an open, free, and uncensored place to express the opinion of our members.  Therefore, if you would like to post an issue, you may send it either by e-mail to the Secretary, or by inserting it into our contact form (located on the "Contact Us" page). Each issue will be denoted by the author's name, and posting date. Issues will be posted as long as they are relevant.

State

  • Currently up for debate at the North Dakota State Legislature is the Predominant Aggressor Bill (H.B. 1348).  This bill will allow a continuity within ND law enforcement ranks to cope with, and provide training for, domestic violence complaints.  To read more about the bill, Click Here, and please contact your representative if you want the bill to be supported.

Local

  • It is again time for the Base Realignment and Closure process and we in Grand Forks could be on the cutting block.  The Air Force base, located directly west of Grand Forks, is a valuable asset to our city and we need to ensure that Washington understands it value.  Support the Air Force Base by contacting your representatives, writing letters to the Armed Services, and rallying the community.  Please see the "Events, News, Photos" page to see upcoming events.
