UND / NDSU Catapult Competition:

On March 24th, 2007 our President, Mandy Larson, along with Cheryl Osowski, Engineering Deans Dr. John Watson (UND) and Dr. Gary Smith (NDSU), and Tau Beta Pi members Darrell Sydlo and Clancy Kadrmas, helped in setting up and judging a catapult competition hosted by UND at the Wellness Center north gym. Engineering teams from both UND and NDSU competed against each other for $250, $150, and $50 prizes awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, respectively. The team that catapulted a golf ball the furthest and straitest using random supplies, and only an hour to construct the catapult, won.

In all, there were 6 UND and 5 NDSU teams. UND took 1st and 2nd places, and NDSU came in 3rd. Go Sioux!

Other Tau Beta Pi members involved with setting up the competition were: Brett Loveless, Kyle Palmiscno, and Julie Kadrmas.
