Call for Papers
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
125th Anniversary Issue
The North Dakota Quarterly issue celebrating the 125th anniversary of the
University of North Dakota will not be historical but philosophical and
pedagogical. (The Louis G. Geiger history of the University, University
of the Northern Plains: A History of the University of North Dakota,
1883-1958, is being updated by D. Jerome Tweton to
narrate the years 1959-2008.) We hope to publish relevant personal essays,
critical articles, reviews, perhaps even fiction and poetry pertaining to
the broad topic “What Is (or Should Be) a University?” and possibly, but
not necessarily, including specific topics such as “What Should the
University of North Dakota Do, Aspire to, Become, and Why?” North Dakota
Quarterly has local, regional, national, and international subscribers and
contributors. We hope that our proposal and call for papers may appeal to
and interest our broad readership as well as the University of North
Dakota community. Higher education and its processes and goals must enter
into our deliberations and actions, and North Dakota Quarterly solicits
your thoughts, ideas, and interest.
Deadline for submissions: January 15, 2008.
Hemingway Issue
We again solicit articles on Ernest Hemingway’s writing.
Deadline for submissions: December 31, 2007.
