The North Dakota Higher Education Consortium for Substance Abuse Prevention (NDHECSAP) is an initiative of the North Dakota University System. It is the intent of the NDHECSAP to be actively committed to the process of the reduction of high-risk drinking, with representation of the eleven campuses within the North Dakota University System (NDUS). The NDHECSAP seeks to provide campuses with skills, attitudes, abilities, and knowledge that will enable them to address collegiate alcohol and substance abuse. This will provide an environment in which students will be given the opportunity to take full advantage of their university experience and to lead productive and satisfying lives.
The NDHECSAP advocates for stronger prevention policies, collaborates in campus-community partnerships, and assists members of the NDHECSAP to develop evidenced-based prevention programs. A key feature of the NDHECSAP’s work is the promotion of prevention strategies that affect the campus environment as a whole and have a large-scale impact on the entire campus community.
Mission: Reduce risk factors and increase protective factors to positively influence behavior related to substance abuse in North Dakota College Students.
Vision: Create campus communities where policies, practices, and programs promote student safety and success. |
