Blocks of rooms have been reserved at two motels in Grand Forks. The primary block of rooms is at the Canad Inn and the secondary block is at the Ramada Inn.
Canad Inn, 1000 South 42nd St., 701-772-8404 Rooms are reserved under the name “Association of American Geographers.” Rates are $110 on Thursday, Sept. 11, and $115 on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13. Reservations must be made by phone. Rooms will be released on Aug. 28. The Canad Inn is a new full-service high-rise hotel complex that houses two restaurants, two bars, and a water park. Reservations must be made by phone. Rooms will be released on Aug. 28. The Ramada Inn houses a restaurant and lounge. Airport shuttle service is provided.
Grand Forks International Airport (GFK) is located about 6 miles west of Grand Forks on U.S. Highway 2. The airport is serviced by Northwest Airlines with five or six flights per day to and from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP). The airport is serviced by taxis and hotel shuttles. Rental cars are available.
