Pillar 2 - Education

By virtue of being graduate students, SAS members have an inherent interest in learning. Education plays a vital role in awareness about current issues that affect the field, as well as eases the transition from student to professional.

Things you can expect from SAS:

  • Professional development workshops at regional events.
  • Relevant symposia and roundtable programming at the APA Annual Convention, International Counseling Psychology Conference, and National Multicultural Summit & Conference.
  • Early career counseling psychologists will speak about the transition process at both regional and national events. These individuals will respond to questions from aspiring counselors and help advise the change from the student role to the professional one.

Contact the current SAS Programming Coordinator at kimberlyjorgensen@gmail.com with questions, comments, or suggestions for professional development topics you’d like to see addressed.
