Jessica Semler grew up in the small town of Springfield, SD and attended South Dakota State University where she received a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She received her MA from the University of North Dakota in 2005 and is currently in her fourth year as a doctoral candidate also at UND. She is starting her internship at the Iowa State University Counseling Center (2009-2010) and is extremely excited to be at his phase in her doctoral training! Her primary research interests pertain to domestic violence and healthy relationships, while her clinical interests are primarily in student issues, women's issues, and couples and family therapy. She thoroughly enjoyed her past position as SAS Co-Chair- it truly was the BEST experience of her student graduate career and has sparked a continuing interest in staying active in SCP leadership throughout her upcoming career in psychology. Jessica is the past co-chair for SAS.
