Emerging Cypriot is a collaborative venture between Josiah Patrow of PatrowVisual, the Pyla-Koutsopetria Archaeological Project, and its collaborating institutions Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the University of North Dakota, and Messiah College.

The shorts were directed by Joe Patrow and co-produced by R. Scott Moore (IUP) and William R. Caraher (UND).  The footage was mainly shot in May and June of 2007 on-site at Pyla-Koutsopetria and Larnaka, Cyprus.

Emerging Cypriot is the second installment of an ongoing project to document the work of the Pyla-Koutsopetria Archaeological Project.  The first installment was the award-winning documentary Survey on Cyprus which debuted in 2006 and has been shown across the US in university classrooms and film festivals.

The shorts here are intended to show the routine, human, mundane, and humorous aspects of a regional survey project.  These complement the image drawn by Survey on Cyprus and, in some ways, expand it.

An interview with the filmmaker is available here.

The shorts are presented here in M4V format and ready for upload into your video iPod or for viewing using Quicktime or iTunes.  You can download Quicktime here or iTunes here.
