11. The Inner Gorge of the Grand Canyon

Above the Colorado River, slopes of Precambrian schist and gneiss lead up to the horizontal beds of the Tapeats Ss. A red scree slope above (Bright Angel Shale) leads up to cliffs formed by the Redwall and Temple Butte Lmsts.
