10. Uncomformity at top of Precambrian

The unbedded rock in the lower half of the photo is Precambrian schist and granite. Above that, the first horizontally bedded layer is the Tapeats Ss. The outcrop in the foreground on the right side of the photo is also Tapeats. Cliffs above the Tapeats include a narrow band of Muav Lmst., and the thick Temple Butte and Redwall Lmst. cliffs. The white cliffs of the Kaibab Lmst. and Coconino Ss. can be seen at the Canyon rim in the background.
