The final exam for our section of this course will take place on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. in the usual classroom. You may not use calculators during the exam. The exam will be comprehensive with an emphasis on Chapter 6.

We will skip Section 6.6.

There is an error in the box on page 169 of our textbook. In the last line of the box, you see
(bc - ad)/(c2 + b2)
This should read as follows:
(bc - ad)/(c2 + d2)
In particular, you should change the "b2" in the denominator to "d2."

If you go to the Barnes & Noble bookstore to purchase the textbook, it could happen that the textbook is out of stock. If this should happen, then to obtain the book from the bookstore, you would need to talk to the people at the textbook counter and ask them to order the book for you. Of course you could also obtain the textbook from another book distributor (such as an Internet-based distributor).
