Exam II will cover the material from Section 2.3 up through and including Section 5.4. We skipped sections 3.4 and 3.5 as well as Chapter 4. In Section 3.6, we skipped double integrals and joint density functions, but we did cover joint mass functions. To prepare for the exam, I suggest that you study the review problems on this handout as well as all past homework assignments for the sections indicated above. On the exam, you may use your book and notes as well as calculators. You may not use laptop computers on the exam. Show your work as much as possible. Some problems can be done almost entirely on a calculator. But you may make a mistake; if you do not show any of your work, then it is difficult for me to give you partial credit.
Here are the suggested review problems:
Look at the data for PTSD in Problem 53 on page 95 of our textbook. You should see thirteen data values. Construct a normal quantile plot for these data values. When you do this, make a table showing the z-quantiles. Comment on the plausibility of a normal population distribution.
