• how to diagnose problems of beginning instrumentalists
• how to implement and adhere to the MENC National Standards for Music Education

Grading

Grades will be determined on the basis of assignments, two exams, as well as preparation and participation in class activities.

Assignments, quizzes, class participation 80%
Midterm Exam 10%
Final Exam 10%

Attendance Policies: Regular, punctual attendance and adherence to assignment deadlines are expected. Without advance permission, exams will be rescheduled only in the case of documented medical emergencies. The course schedule makes it almost impossible to reschedule presentations. A missed exam, assignment, or presentation will result in a grade of zero.
