General Comments:	Variation Overture is a wonderful piece to teach a young ensemble theme and variation style. There are four variations to the theme, which is highlighted in different instruments in each variation. The range is moderate, and the rhythms simple and flowing. An added bonus to this piece is the wide variety of musical expression that can be taught all in one work.
