General Comments: The piece was written in 1930 but was published only recently. The first page of the march was lost until 1986. There is great opportunity for full woodwind sounds while the brass and percussion can stay on the lighter side, except for basses. The low brass has a beautiful, soaring melody line near the end that is punctuated by the woodwind flourishes. This piece could be a new Sousa experience for many an audience!
