General Comments: Sailor's Song was probably originally written for piano. Shaeffer has done a creative job arranging the piece for lower level band. The parts are scored very well, so that every part is doubled. He has incorporated lush chords with easy ranges and a broad spectrum of dynamics. Students are also presented with numerous accented figures. This is a good piece for players just starting out.
