General Comments: This is a neat little three-movement work for a young band that will introduce them to the styles of the Renaissance era. The melodies in the first movement were taken from several of Josquin's chansons. This work makes good use of antiphonal effects, and the percussion parts are appropriate to the style of music being played. The three movements are "La Mourisque," "Mille Regretz," and "La Bataille." They are in fast-slow-fast form.
