| General Comments: | The melodic material of this march comes from the Mexican children's song Don Gato or The Cat. Exciting percussion parts will make this fun for your drummers, castanets are recommended but not required. This march is in D minor, the trio section modulates into the relative major, F, which is a little different than you would expect from a march. Eighth note variations of the simple tune make for exciting melodic material that is maintained throughout the piece. This and the Mexican flavor of the percussion parts will make this fun for any band. |
