General Comments: Land of the Free is a concert march based on an American tune. This march is in the standard form for a march and is in the key of E flat. The scoring is full throughout the piece with no solo sections. There are many dynamic changes in the piece that will add to a musical performance. There are sections where the brass are instructed to play second time only, this gives the woodwind color a chance to dominate the texture of the piece.
