| General Comments: | This arrangement of an American hymn is for band, choir, and optional strings. This is a good opportunity to combine your band and choir programs. The piece starts with a fanfare in the band followed by a more tranquil accompaniment of the choir. The second verse is done by both the band and the singers, this verse is faster than the first and has fanfares in the trumpets. The trumpet players will have fun playing these simple fanfares. The lush scoring throughout keeps the intensity of the piece to the end. |
