| General Comments: | Romanticist Hector Berlioz was fascinated with the timbres available in the wind band. His "Symphonie Funebre et Triomphale" is one greatly admired band piece written for the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the July Revolution of 1830. With a great deal of syncopation and triplet figures throughout the score, active listening is a critical factor in a successful performance. This would be a great opening or closing concert piece! | |
