| General Comments: | This piece has a Russian sound, as the composer's last name implies. It is very spirited and powerful, with some effective tempo changes. Syncopation is used often, and there are some musical elements to address: rallentando, marcato, and quick meter changes. Most impressive is the wonderful woodwind scoring, excellent for a young band to play as challenge. | |
