Exordium (Prelude to new Era)

Title: Exordium (Prelude to new Era)
Level: Grade 3
Composer/Arranger:James Swearingen
Publisher: Birch Island Music Press
Classification: Prelude
Instrumentation: Full
Source: Poppler's Conductor's Score
General Comments: Exordium is an exciting new composition that would serve as a fine concert opener. It is full of exciting rhythmic passages in which the entire ensemble can take part. The rapid articulations of the sixteenth notes offer a challenge for the players. Swearingen also writes quite a few crescendos and diminuendos in the percussion parts which offer musical challenges to the percussion section. This is a good piece to feature a bandŐs technical proficiency...
