| General Comments: | This piece starts out with an allegro section that is rhythmically driving with an eighth note ostinato. The saxes have the melody throughout this first section. The second section of the piece is slow and lyrical. It is dominated by a beautiful trumpet solo that will challenge a young player to play it musically. The piece ends with a maestoso section that is quite stately. The ending of the piece has a run of sixteenths up to the final whole note. Most of the instruments have the sixteenths so this may be a potential problem. |
