General Comments: This piece was written and first performed for the 60th anniversary season of the Wheaton Municipal Band. It was meant to have all six movements performed. In the beginning Mr. Reed has given the conductor some notes as to how to perform the work and how to make the performance a memorable one. This selection will definitely keep your students on their toes and watching you. In "The Soft Shoe novelty" there are little sections for smaller ensembles and stylistic playing. Throughout the whole piece there are stylistic and tempo changes that will not only challenge your students but also expose them to many different genere. This piece is definitely a crowd pleaser and your students will also enjoy the energy and excitement that it generates.
