| General Comments: | This is a two movement work that utilizes interesting compositional techniques. The first movement, "Adagio molto sostenuto," uses slow twelve-tone melodies. The flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, and trumpet all get a short solo. The second movement, "Allegro con brio," is more traditional sounding than the first. Doubling of parts make this movement playable. The challenge in this movement will be control of technique and dynamics at the fast tempo. |
