| General Comments: | This beautiful arrangement was published in 1992 and is based on a hymn found in Cologne, Germany that dates back to 1623. The piece begins with a broad introduction of the popular chorale tune. With some mixed meter and phrasing, care must be given to the moving lines. There is an eventual key change from B-flat to E-flat after which the music can be played a bit more deliberately. The variations of this Protestant chorale melody are worth a look or two. | |
