| General Comments: | This is a good educational piece. It was written to focus on certain aspects of playing an instrument, such as: articulations, tone quality, breath support, and attacks and releases. McGinty states the preceding in her program notes. She also accents these areas by focusing on them on a higher level. For example she has the entire band articulate in unisons in the case of articulation. I think this is a wonderful piece not only for the great music that is in, but also for the education. | |
