| General Comments: | This march starts with an introduction of accented quarter notes that leads into the first strain. The first strain melody is active with sixteenth and eighth notes played by the trumpets and clarinets. The melody in the trio is similar to the first strain but at half tempo. The second time through the trio has fanfares in the trumpet parts that make for an interesting addition. The piece ends as it begins, with accented quarter notes leading to the close of the piece. |
