| General Comments: | The opening statement provides the basic structure material for the entire work. The first section passes the melody through different intstrumental timbres with dissonant harmonies, while the second section uses percussive figures. There are a lot of hocket-style passeges and soloistic lines. There are many oportunities to feature players in many different sections. This piece will not challenge your students constantly as far as basic reading, but when there are not sixtuplet runs the scoring of the piece gets thin and balance will challenge you and your students. | |
