| General Comments: | Brigadoon is the story of a mystical town in Scotland that appears once every hundred years and a man who falls in love with a girl from there. This piece uses old Scottish melodies to tell the story. European military band type scoring is very apparent. Mellow sounding instruments like cornet, baritone, and sax get quite a few little solos throughout. This piece is very playable because of the nice melodies and should be enjoyed by both the audience and the band. |
