• 7 pieces at grade 1-1.5
• 7 pieces at grade 2
• 7 pieces at grade 2.5

III. at least one piece representative of each of the following historical style periods

• renaissance
• baroque
• classical
• romantic
• 20th century

IV. at least one piece in the style of music from each of the following cultures

• Asian
• Native American
• African
• Hispanic

V. at least one piece from each of the following genres:

• march
• tone poem
• suite
• concerto
• symphony or sonata
• overture
• fugue
• variations

VI. at least one piece fulfilling the following miscellaneous criteria:

• a woman composer
• lyric phrasing
• marcato
• featured percussion section
• featured saxophone section
• scale passages
• 6/8 time
