General Comments: Bela Bartok was definitely a great composer of modern piano music. This piece has been written for an advanced level two ensemble. Part of the reason for this is the melodies and harmonies that are so common in Bartok's music. This arrangement has created many independent parts, and the scoring is a bit thin at times. The melody is very scale-like, and players should concentrate on phrasing and stylistic playing.
