| General Comments: | This wonderful work, dedicated to Harry Begian and the Michigan State University Band, is a wonderful work containing various folk songs from Armenia. Set for modern concert band instrumentation, it requires players adept at rhytmic variety (5/8, varying between 2+3 and 3+2) and musical sensitivity. Outstanding Oboe, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet and Horn soloists are vital. The clarinet section MUST be able to move their fingers! This piece is a must for all serious band programs. |
