| General Comments: | Composed in 1935 for students at the Paris Conservatory, this solo (originally with piano) requires a great deal of technical proficiency on behalf of the soloist. The piece opens with several slow passages of triplet sixteenth and thirty-second notes. The piece is expressive and lively and remains one of the most-performed solos of both trombone and euphonium players. | |
