These extra credit projects are designed to help you study for the exams. If you complete every extra credit assignment on this page, you will get an extra extra credit point!
Mitosis & Meiosis Sheet (M&M): Due before you take Exam I
Use 2 sides of a piece of paper to draw/write all the stages of Mitosis and Meiosis. Include as much information as you wish you could have with you on the exam. This exercise is worth 2 points.
DNA Sheet: Due before you take Exam II
Use 2 sides of a piece of paper to draw a nucleotide, you can choose the base. Then, draw all five nitrogenous bases (2 purines, 3 pyrimidines), as well as the 2 kinds of pentose sugars found in DNA and RNA. Add anything else you want to remember about DNA structure (for instance, you could draw 2 bases Hydrogen bonded to each other, as they would be in dsDNA). This exercise is worth 2 points.
