By means of the interrupted mating technique, 5 different 
Hfr strains (A, B, C, D, E) were analyzed for the sequence 
in which they transmitted ten different genes (0-9) to an 
F- recipient.  Each strain was found to transmit its genes 
in a unique sequence.  The results of the experiment are 
presented in the following table (only the first 6 genes 
are recorded):
