Department of Teaching & Learning

Welcome from the Chair

Glenn Olsen

Welcome to the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of North Dakota! We strive for excellence to meet your current and future needs as professionals. Indeed, as John Dewey stated, "If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, we rob them of tomorrow." Keeping up-to-date with the newest thinking and technology is our goal.

Throughout your career, you will have the privilege of working with countless numbers of students and families, forever leaving your mark as a person who made a difference. Our role is to help you reach your goal of being the best educator you possibly can become. Your education at UND will offer you opportunities to grow as a learner and a teacher.

We have a proud tradition at UND of preparing high quality educators and professionals. You will be working with dedicated faculty members who believe that teaching and learning are life-long commitments and who model best practices in their classrooms. We will support you as you connect theory and action through reflective practices. We support the development of new professionals and look forward to having you as part of the Department of Teaching and Learning.
