Special Education Undergraduate Program

The Special Education Department offers a Minor in Special Education to undergraduate students. For more information, please review the Minor in Special Education Advising Checklist. The following are frequently asked questions.

How do I declare Special Education as a minor?
A student must inform the Advisement Office in Room 105 of the Education Building that he/she is declaring a minor in the field.

Where should I go for advisement?
If you declare Special Education as a minor, you may seek advisement from any of the members of the Special Education Faculty.

After I graduate, how do I become certified to teach?
To become certified in early childhood, elementary, middle level, or secondary education the student arranges upon graduation with the EHD Advisement Office to obtain a teaching license. For a credential in special education, one must complete the special education program at the graduate level.
