Resident Teacher Program in Special Education

Admissions Information for the Resident Teacher Program

Application to the Resident Teacher Program is a two-tiered process. Tier 1 is admission to the master's program in special education and Tier 2 is admission to the Resident Teacher Program.

Admission to the master's program is ongoing and is conducted through the Graduate School, based on the material provided in a complete application and these prerequisites. To ensure that acceptance to the master's program is completed by March 1, all master's admissions materials should be submitted to the Graduate School no later than February 1.

Admission to the Resident Teacher Program occurs only in the spring and is conducted through the Special Education program area. Admission materials consist of:

  • Resident Teacher Application (Word) (PDF)
  • Written statement (described on page 2 of the application)
  • Current resume, and
  • List of three telephone references with contact information.

These materials MUST BE submitted by March 1. If this deadline is met by the applicant, acceptance to the master's program has been completed, and all application materials for the RT program have been received, then an admission interview will be scheduled for the first week in April.
