Secondary Education Undergraduate Program
 |
The Secondary Program consists of courses designed to prepare teachers for working with young people in grades 7-12. Emphasis is placed on student-centered and constructivist approaches that are responsive to adolescent learners and to the moral and ethical values imbedded in a democratic, pluralistic and diverse society. Licensure to teach is obtained through the study of both a subject area major from the discipline and pedagogy courses from Teaching & Learning. |

The Secondary Education program checklist (PDF) includes the licensure requirements for secondary certification at UND.
Admission to the Teaching and Learning Department does not imply nor guarantee completion of the program. Students are expected to perform well academically and to be professional and ethical in all aspects of their preparation. Failure to do either or both can result in dismissal from the program.
