Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee
September 9, 2004
1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was
held on Thursday, September 9, Room 305, Twamley Hall. Chuck Moretti presided.
2. Those present were Victoria Beard, Connie Borboa, Mary
Cutler, Connie Gagelin, Jim Haskins, Nancy Krogh, Chuck Moretti, David Relling,
Sandra Short, and Tom Zeidlik.
3. Minutes for April 29, 2004. Chuck Moretti moved to approve the minutes
from April 29. The motion was seconded voted upon and carried unanimously.
4. Mary Cutler presented T&L 549 course change
request. Chuck Moretti moved to approve
the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
5. Mary Cutler presented minor in Nutrition change in
program requirements request. Chuck Moretti moved to approve the request. The
motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
6. Chuck Moretti presented Chemical Engineering change in
program requirements request and moved approval with the stipulation that “prior
approval from the advisor” be changed to “with approval of the Chemical
Engineering Department.” The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried
unanimously.
7. Sandra Short presented Civil Engineering 423 course
change request and CIEN 423L new course request and moved approval of the
requests. The motion was seconded, voted
upon and carried unanimously.
8. Jim Haskins presented Acct 218 course change request
and moved approval. The motion was
seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
9. Tom Zeidlik moved to remove BS Ed in Composite Social
Studies change in program requirements; T&L 320 new course request; T&L
455 course deletion request; and Early Childhood Education change in program
requirements request from the table. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
Tom Zeidlik presented T&L 320 new course request;
T&L 455 course deletion request; and Early Childhood Education change in
program requirements request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously. The department will
be contacted concerning the length of the course title.
Tom Zeidlik presented change in BS Ed in Composite Social
Studies and moved approval. The motion
was seconded, voted upon, and carried unanimously.
10. Jim Haskins moved to remove Chemistry 508 and 509
from the table. The motion was seconded,
voted upon and carried unanimously.
Tom Zeidlik moved to retable the requests and request a
representative from Chemistry attend the next meeting. The motion was seconded,
voted upon and carried unanimously.
11. The meeting adjourned at 3:40.
