of the University Curriculum Committee
1. A meeting of the
University Curriculum Committee was held on Friday, November 3, Room 305, Twamley
Hall. David Relling presided. Those
present were Connie Borboa, Matt Cavalli, Mary Drewes, Connie Gagelin, Devon
Hansen, Assion Lawson-Body, MaryAnne Laxon, Jeanine McHugo, David Relling, Sandra
Short and Rick Van Eck.
2. October 27 minutes. Connie
Gagelin moved to approve the October 27 minutes. The motion was seconded, voted
upon and carried with one abstention.
3. Rick Van Eck presented
IDT Certificate in Corporate Training and Performance and IDT Certificate in
K-12 Technology Integration certificates new program requests. Matt Cavalli
moved to approve both of the requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
4. Mary Ann Laxen
presented Physician Assistant change in program requirements along with PA 500,
540, 550, 565, 580, 585 course change requests and PA 505, 516, 541, 551 and
561 new course requests. David Relling moved to approve all of the requests.
The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
5. Assion Lawson-Body
presented Fin 251 new course request; Fin 475 course change request and BAdm
course deletion request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded,
voted upon and carried with one abstention.
6. Sandra Short presented
IDS 497 new course request and moved to disapprove. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
7. Matt Cavalli presented
Geog 998 course change request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
8. Matt Cavalli presented
CJ 520 new course request. David Relling moved to table the request. The motion
was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
9. Matt Cavalli presented
CJ 996 and 999 new course requests and moved approval of both. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
10. David Relling moved to
remove Microbiology 517 course change request from the table. The motion was seconded,
voted upon and carried unanimously.
David Relling presented
MBio 517 course deletion request and MBio 519 new course request and moved
approval of both. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
11. Devon Hansen moved to
remove Geography (Community and Urban Development Emphasis) change in program
requirements request from the table. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
Devon Hansen presented the
Geography change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion
was seconded, voted upon and carried with two abstentions.
12. Devon Hansen moved to
remove Biol 439 new course request from the table.
Connie Gagelin moved to
approved Biol 439 new course request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried with one opposed and one abstention.
13. Birgit Hans presented IS
171, 212, 220, 250, 251, 311, 350, 360, 380, 385, 388, 410, 415, 425, 430 new
course requests; IS 201, 203, 330, 331, 346, 371, 375 course change requests;
IS 345, 363, 440 course deletions; and Indian Studies change in program
requirements request. Connie Gagelin moved to approve all of the requests. The
motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
