Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

October 30, 2003

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, October 30, in Twamley Hall, Room 305. Chuck Moretti presided.

2. Those present were Victoria Beard, Connie Borboa, Mary Cutler, Mary Drewes, Jim Haskins, Nancy Krogh, Evelyn Labun, Chuck Moretti, Ralph Woehle, and Tom Zeidlik.

3. Minutes for October 16, 2003. Ralph Woehle moved to approve the minutes from October 16. The motion was seconded voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Tom Zeidlik presented SPST 421 and SPST 523 new course requests and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Tom Zeidlik presented SPST 535 course change request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

5. Ralph Woehle presented PPT 294 course deletion and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle presented PPT 301 course change request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle presented PPT 315 course change request. Evelyn Labun moved to approve the request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle presented PPT 492 course change request and moved to approve the request with clarification on the credits requested. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle presented PPT 499 course change request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

6. EnvE 596 and 591. Connie Borboa explained to the Committee the common course numbering changes that were made to these courses at the time of their initial approval. Dr. Wayne Seames asked that these course numbers be changed back to EnvE 591 and 562 to make them consist with the School of Engineering and Mines course numbering. Jim Haskins moved to approve the EnvE 596 and 591 course number changes. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

(The Graduate School Dean was notified and agreed.)

7. Ralph Woehle presented his modifications to the course change/deletion and new course forms. This form will be discussed again at our next meeting along with the change to title for degree, department or major, minor. Jim Haskins will work on this form.

8. Meeting adjourned at 4:35.
