Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee
1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was
held on Wednesday, February 2, Room 305, Twamley Hall.
Chuck Moretti presided.
Those present were Heidi Blitch, Connie Borboa, Mary Cutler, Mary Drewes,
Connie Gagelin, Elizabeth Harrison-Behling, Jim Haskins, Roxanne Hurley, Nancy Krogh, Chuck Moretti, David Relling, Sandra Short, Richard Van Eck, and Tom Zeidlik.
2. Sandra Short and Richard Van Eck presented Instructional Design and
Technology change in program requirements request; IDT 500, 525, 538, 540, 545,
550, 560, 570, and 580 new course requests; and IDT 510, 520, and 530 course
change requests. Sandra Short moved to approve all of the requests. The motion
was seconded, voted upon and carried with two abstentions.
3. Mary Cutler presented Master of Music in Composition; Musc 537, 538 and 539
new course requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted
upon and carried unanimously.
4. Roxanne Hurley presented Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing change in
program requirements request; Nurs 540, 541, 542 course change requests; Nurs
561 and 572 new course requests and moved approval of all. The motion was
seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
5. Jim Haskins moved to remove the English requests from the table. The motion
was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
Elizabeth Harrison-Behling and Mary Cutler presented Engl 226 new course request and Engl 305, 306, 411 and 412 course change requests. Mary Cutler moved to approve all of the requests with the following changes: Engl 305 was given the new number of 307 and Engl 411 and 412 were given new numbers of 413 and 414 respectively. Deletion requests will be submitted for Engl 305, 411 and 412. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
6. Jim Haskins presented Engl 515 course change request and Engl 516 and 524 new course requests and moved approval of all of the requests with regard to the following: Engl 515 was given the new number of 517 and a course deletion request will be submitted for Engl 515. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
7. David Relling presented Physician Assistant Studies change in degree title request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
8. David Relling presented M.S. and Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell Biology change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
9. Charles Moretti presented ME 532 new course request and moved approval with the stipulation the department address the resource issue and submit the information to the Office of the Registrar.
10. David Relling moved to approve the minutes from December 9, January 19 and January 26. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
