Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

September 29, 2005

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday September 29, Room 305, Twamley Hall. David Relling presided. Those present were Connie Borboa, Matthew Cavalli, Connie Gagelin, Roxanne Hurley, Assion Lawson-Body, Kanishka Marasinghe, David Relling and Sandra Short.

2. Minutes September 8. David Relling moved to approve the minutes from the September 8 meeting. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

3. Roxanne Hurley presented the College of Nursing requests as follows and moved approval of all: Coordinated Program in Dietetics change in program requirements; N&D 480 new course request; N&D 300 course deletion, B.S. in Nursing change in program requirements; Nurs 420 new course request.

4. Management 301 was removed from the table and discussed. The Committee has the following concerns regarding the GPA pre-requisite issue: sets a precedent for all University courses; unduly restricts student access to the course. Is there something else that can be used to monitor students? Connie Borboa will discuss concerns with Registrar and Connie Gagelin will talk with the Provost.

5. The meeting adjourned at 4:25 p.m.
