of the University Curriculum Committee
1. A meeting of the
University Curriculum Committee was held on Friday, October 27, Room 305, Twamley
Hall. David Relling presided. Those
present were Suzanne Anderson, Connie Borboa, Barbara Combs, Mary Drewes, Connie
Gagelin, Devon Hansen, Roxanne Hurley, Assion Lawson-Body, David Relling and
Sandra Short.
2. October 20 minutes. October
20 minutes were approved.
3. Barbara Combs presented
the Combined Major in Elementary Education & Physical Education program and
Combined Major in Elementary Education & Visual Arts program for
termination. Sandra Short moved to approve both termination requests. The motion
was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
4. Sandra Short presented
the BS Ed with a major in Science change in program requirements request and
moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
5. David Relling presented
BIMD 500 and 513 course change requests; BIMD 512 course deletion request; BIMD
515, 516 new course requests; and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Ph.D. and
M.S. change in program requirements requests and moved approval of all. The
motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.
6. David Relling presented
Anat 505 and 522 course change requests and M.S. and Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell
Biology change in program requirements requests and moved approval of all. The
motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
7. David Relling presented
M.S. and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology change in program requirements
requests and MBio 517 course change request.
David Relling moved to approve the Microbiology change in program
requirements requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried
unanimously.
MBio 517 course change
request was tabled.
8. Devon Hansen presented
Geography 134 and 134L course change requests and moved approval of all. The
motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
9. Devon Hansen presented
Geog 452 course change request; Geog 458 new course request; and Geography
(Community and Urban Development Emphasis) change in program requirements
request. Devon Hansen moved to approve Geog 452 course change request and Geog
458 new course request. The motion was seconded, voted upon, and carried
unanimously.
Geography (Community and
Urban Development Emphasis) change in program requirements request was tabled.
10. Devon Hansen presented
Biol 434 and 439 new course requests and moved approval of Biol 434 only. The
motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
Biol 439 was tabled for
clarification of prerequisite.
11. Devon Hansen presented
Lang 394 new course request. Lang 394
was tabled.
12. Psyc 421 course change
request and B.A. with a major in Psychology change in program requirements
request postponed until Committee receives Psyc 521 from

presented Minor in Literacy Education and moved approval. The motion was
seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
14. David Relling
presented Math 400 new course request; Math 277 course change request and B.S.
with major in Mathematics (teacher Licensure) change in program requirements
request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and
carried unanimously.
15. David Relling
presented Engl 161 and 162 course deletion requests and moved approval of all.
The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
