Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

February 19, 2004

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, February 19, in Twamley Hall, Edna Twamley Room. Chuck Moretti presided.

2. Those present were Connie Borboa, Mary Cutler, Jim Haskins, Nancy Krogh, Evelyn Labun, Melinda Leach, Chuck Moretti, Elizabeth Scharf, Ralph Woehle and Tom Zeidlik.

3. Minutes for February 12, 2004. Ralph Woehle moved to approve the minutes from February 12. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Tom Zeidlik presented Spst 521 new course request and Spst 421 course deletion request and moved approval of both requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously. Tom Zeidlik will talk with the Space Studies department to suggest a wording change in the course description and ask that all required signatures are affixed to Spst 421 course deletion form.

5. Ralph Woehle presented PEXS 532 new course request and PEXS 535, 536, 538 and 539 course change requests and moved to table all of the requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

6. Ralph Woehle moved to remove Anth 172, 330, 370, 376 and 494 course change requests and Anth 200 new course request from the table. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Melinda Leach and Elizabeth Scharf, from the Anthropology department, presented additional information on the Anthropology requests.

Ralph Woehle moved to approve Anth 172 course change request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle moved to approve Anth 200 new course request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle moved to approve Anth 330 course change request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle moved to approve Anth 370 course change request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle moved to approve Anth 376 course change request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Ralph Woehle moved to approve Anth 494 course change request. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

7. Meeting adjourned at 4:00.
