Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

November 12, 2009

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, November 12 in Room 305 Twamley Hall. Liz Tyree presided. Those present were Connie Borboa, Kate Campbell, Paul Drechsel, Connie Gagelin, Bonni Gourneau, Richard Millspaugh, Jeremiah Neubert, Mary Riske, Seinquis Slater, and Liz Tyree.

2. Minutes October 22. Paul Drechsel moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.

3. Mary Riske presented Clinical Laboratory Science Management Certificate program termination request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Mary Riske presented CLS 510, 511, 512, 519 and 520 course deletion requests and CLS 524 new course request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Mary Riske presented CLS 504 course deletion request and CLS 523 and 524 new course requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

Mary Riske presented CLS change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Richard Millspaugh presented B.S. in Molecular and Integrative Biology new program request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

5. Bonni Gourneau presented EDL 535, 536 and 537 course change requests; Counseling 250 course change request; and B.S. Ed. with major in Elementary Education, B.S. Ed. with major in Middle School Education and Secondary Education change in program requirements requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with a vote of 7 in favor of, 1 opposed and 1 abstention.

6. Jeremiah Neubert presented Mechanical Engineering 420 new course request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

7. Kate Campbell presented M.S. in Industrial Technology change in program requirements request; Tech 525 course deletion request; and Tech 510 and 545 course change requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

8. Joey Benoit presented change in catalog wording for graduate minors and cognates. Richard Millspaugh moved to approve the change. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.

9. Honors 272, 372, 381 and 382 new course requests removed from table. Kate Campbell presented the requests and additional information received from Honors and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

10. The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
