Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

February 11, 2010

1. A meeting of the University Curriculum Committee was held on Thursday, February 11 in Room 305, Twamley. Liz Tyree presided. Those present were Suzanne Anderson, Connie Borboa, Kate Campbell, Paul Drechsel, Connie Gagelin, Richard Millspaugh, Jeremiah Neubert, Mary Riske, and Liz Tyree. Guests: Anne Walker, Jill Shafer.

2. Minutes January 14. Richard Millspaugh moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried with one abstention.

3. Anne Walker and Jill Shafer presented Graduate Certificate and M.Ed. in

English Language Learner Education new program requests, T&L 513, 514, 537,

550, 551, 567, 568 new course requests. Bonni Gourneau moved to approve all

of the requests. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

4. Paul Drechsel presented M.S. in Aviation change in program requirements request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.   

5. Paul Drechsel presented Atmospheric Sciences change in program requirements request; AtSc 110 course change request and AtSc 110L new course request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.  

6. Richard Millspaugh presented Graduate Certificate in Community-Based Literacy as Applied Linguistics new program request and moved approval. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

7. Richard Millspaugh presented Hist 402 new course request and Hist 403, 404 course deletion requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

8. Kate Campbell presented CSD 460 course deletion request; CSD 461 new course request; Communication Science and Disorders change in program requirements request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.    

9. Jeremiah Neubert presented Biology 364 course change request and moved to approve. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

10. Jeremiah Neubert presented PXW 101 and PXW 102 new course requests and moved to table pending receipt of information from Nursing. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

11. Mary Riske presented M.S. and Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell Biology change in program requirements requests; Anat 513, 515, 518, 522 course change requests; Anat 514, 516, 519 new course requests and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.

12. Liz Tyree presented Physician Assistant change in program requirements request and PA 501, 502, 517 new course requests; PA 505, 506, 511, 516 course change requests; and PA 500 course deletion request and moved approval of all. The motion was seconded, voted upon and carried unanimously.
